The Company
Since 2005, the CIA MOVEO produces and tours on international stages productions that explore the narrative strength of the body and the expressive richness of the movement.
Far from illustrating through gestures, far from an abstract plasticity of the body separated from theatricality, Cia Moveo researches and works the development of a physical language that constantly seeks the connection between different disciplines.
Based in Barcelona, the company is formed by Spanish and international artists and was co-founded by Stéphane Lévy, Sophie Kasser, and Olivier Décriaud.
Since its creation, the company has been awarded several prizes, the most recent being the Best Performance Award (dance category) of the International Theater and Dance Fair of Huesca’15 (Spain), the Best Company Award of the Imaginarius’16 Festival in Portugal, the Moritz Fira Tàrrega’17 Award for Best Street Arts Premiere and the Dansacat Award 2020 for the Best Choreography. Cia Moveo was also nominated for the 2018 and 2020 Critic’s Award.
The company receives the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Barcelona City Council, and the Institut Ramon Llull and works in collaboration with the manager Fani Benages.

The Cia Moveo through the Moveo Centre, is offering support to international artists and companies in their devising process thanks to a residency programme.
Our shows can be combined with workshops and masterclasses. The Moveo Centre also offers full time training programmes as well as regular courses and intensive workshops.

MOVEO is a performing arts centre dedicated to the training, creation and investigation of physical theatre.
Founded in 2005, it houses a stable company, residencies of artists, a school offering courses, workshops as well as a variety of activities around the expressive body.
THE MOVEO CENTRE IS:
Within the training axe, we organize a variety of courses for professionals and beginners of all ages intended to widening the offer of theatre training and introduce lines of physical work. The school, that offers a professional Diploma Programme along with other regular and intensive courses, is part of ACET (Catalan Association of Theatre Schools).
Our investigation has brought us to the creation of 9 professional shows and 34 school shows, as well as projects and workshops with which we have been touring internationally for over 15 years. Since our origins and until now, 1000 professionals and students from over 50 countries have participated in our centre’s activities.
Moveo Center’s performing arts residencies foster creation in the field of physical theatre and movement arts, providing a space for experimentation and artistic development in Barcelona.
Designed to support young creators and emerging companies, these residencies offer the opportunity to research, rehearse, and bring their projects to life.
Moveo Center encourages artistic autonomy, empowering participants to develop their own scenic proposals and contributing to the growth of these contemporary disciplines.
In addition to providing a suitable workspace, Moveo Center facilitates exchange with national and international artists, promoting dialogue and mutual enrichment.
We not only support emerging companies, but also individual creators seeking to refine their performing language. The program prioritizes a creative approach that optimizes resources, encouraging imagination and innovation in performance-making.
Through artistic guidance and external feedback, Moveo Center can also provide support to help resident projects evolve according to their specific needs.
As a reference point for physical theatre and movement arts, Moveo Center offers a space where training, research, and production come together to generate new scenic proposals that explore fresh languages and perspectives within contemporary creation.
The Moveo center has received grants from the Institute of Culture of the City of Barcelona (ICUB), the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Ramon Llull Institute. Moveo also received the support the Consulate General of Switzerland in Barcelona and the French Institute of Barcelona.
